Product Introduction to C9 Cold-Polymerized Petroleum Resin

C9 cold‑polymerized petroleum resin is produced by cracking C9 feedstock; under the action of a catalyst, carbon cationic active centers are formed, initiating chain‑growth polymerization. It is not a high‑molecular‑weight polymer but rather a low‑molecular‑weight oligomer with a molecular weight ranging from 300 to 3,000. This product appears as pale‑yellow granules and exhibits characteristics such as low acid value, excellent miscibility, and resistance to water, ethanol, and various chemicals. It also demonstrates chemical stability toward acids and bases and offers good viscosity‑adjusting properties and thermal stability. C9 petroleum resin is typically not used alone; instead, it serves as an accelerator, modifier, or compatibilizer in combination with other resins.
